Rain keep on falling, Keep on falling down. Rain keep on falling, Keep on falling down. If the rain don't stop tomorrow, you won't see me around. Wind keep on blowing, Blowing me around. Wind keep on blowing, Blowing me around. If the wind don't stop tomorrow, I'm gonna pack up and leave town. 'Cause when the rains fall in Taranaki, They fall for days. If you see those waters rising, You better stay away. Ya! Rain keep on falling, Keep on falling down. Rain keep on falling, Keep on falling down. If the rain don't stop tomorrow, you won't see me around. If the rain don't stop tomorrow, I'm gonna pack up and leave town.

I wait out there under the starlight With plenty of patience, for you, sister. You the bringer of ancestral visions, Weaver of that saturated tapestry. When I wake up into that sober morning, And free myself from your web, When I'm left with coarse reality, I still hear your voice, still hear it call me - Home, if only I knew how to get back. Get back there, to find a way, back to your halcyon promise. Under-weaver of the tapestry that lies beneath, The field of all perception, In the night when I'm alone I hear you, I hear your voice, and it calls me - Home, if only I knew how to get back. Get back there, to find a way, back to your halcyon promise. Home, to find a way, back to your halcyon promise. Home, to find a way, back there Back to your saturated Your saturated tapestry Let me go home Back there Back to your Your halcyon Your halcyon promise Let me go home Back there Back to your Your saturated Your saturated tapestry

Said I'm twenty-two now Time to find me a wife Twenty-two now Time to find me a wife I wanna be a one-woman man I wanna be a one-woman man I'm tired of running around town She gotta have a head of long hair She gotta have a head of long hair Want that hair down, baby, down to her breasts I wanna be a one-woman man I wanna be a one-woman man I'm tired of running around town She gotta have a pair of thick thighs She gotta have a pair of thick thighs My legs are long, yeah, they're long enough I wanna be a one-woman man I wanna be a one-woman man I'm tired of running around town She gotta want a lot of kids She gotta want a lot of kids Want that place a-jumpin', baby, with six or seven kids I wanna be a one-woman man I wanna be a one-woman man I'm tired of running around town I wanna be a one-woman man I wanna be a one-woman man I'm tired of running around town

Let's go out into the free open air again Let's wander aimlessly along the oceanside As the afternoon falls down from the sky And the day drifts into memory Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in When the quiet of the afternoon falls down And envelopes us all in its relieving sensation A stillness casts its spell over all the ways And calm warm thoughts well up from the unconscious Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in Couples and children meander along the coast And the ocean rocks itself in its gentle semi-sleep Crystalline and shimmering in the fading light The waves glisten as in a dream Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in Let's run down to the waters and dive headlong in Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na etc.

about

'The Lo-Fi Sessions: Volume I – Sosruko & Friends' was recorded over the summer of 2016/17. It sounds like it was made using a beat-up old drum kit, a couple of SM-57 mics, and a 4-track cassette recorder – because it was. Reverb was recorded in my bathroom and in Westown School Hall, Taranaki.

Sosruko & Friends will be the first of a series of EPs that I’ll release in 2017 and 2018.

Joe Jeremiah: bass guitar on Taranaki Blues, Home (Saturated Tapestry), and One-Woman Man; piano on Home (Saturated Tapestry); group vocals, and hand drum on One Shining Day in the Sun.
Zeph: group vocals, and tambourine on One Shining Day in the Sun.
Sosruko: lead vocals, guitar, drums, flute, and baritone guitar.

about

Sosruko New Plymouth, New Zealand

The strange circumstances around Sosruko's birth fixed his lot in this world as an outsider, fated to wander from place to place, often a fool, often a stranger, knowing many guises and playing many games.
