Excited to bring you some new music written & recorded on the first few days of 2019.

My previous EP (Sosruko's Trilogy) took almost a year to finish after I initially thought up the songs. This was because I wanted to have some instruments on there that I didn't have or know how to play at the time (bodhran drum, and pan pipes).

So for this EP, I wanted to write & record something very quickly. I woke up on New Years Day, shaved my moustache, and then did 10 pages of automatic writing - which is a technique where you try and write without thinking/consciously coming up with the words. I used this technique on my first EP (Wanderer Songs) to come up with most of the lyrics. Sometimes what you write turns out to be nonsense, but sometimes it turns out to be quite meaningful & dreamlike.

After the automatic writing, I went through the 10 pages and picked phrases that seemed to go together, then came up with the chords & song structures.

I recorded the whole EP in one uninterupted take using my cassette recorder & a microphone I inherited from a great uncle which came with his record player. The microphone is noisey as hell, my guess is it's probably from the 1970's.
