To the mountainland of my ancient fathers
To the land of the setting sun
I don't recall what I was
'Fore this faint light cast its spell on me
A breeze floats in from the distance
And meets my closed eyes upon the shore

I mourn for the wasted brilliance
Of but one microcosm
I mourn for the shedded layer
That burned along with it
Wiser and sadder for the loss
